Definitely a different type of music for today. More like a folk band. This band creates an older style of music. I did enjoy listening to it.

The first song The Derby Ram is more of a ska-like track. It has trumpets and brass instruments in it which do sound good. The lyrics do have a lot of love in them, while the guitar solo in this track I especially enjoyed. Everything flows together perfectly at the end of the track.

The second song titled I Would Love To is the better of the two songs. It is more of a Folk tale. I especially enjoyed the whistling along with the piano. A lot like the first song the lyrics express a lot of love.

Overall I enjoyed this band. I would listen to this on sociable occasions with a few friends.

Superb!

Well, that sort of sums it up, really, so this is going to be a very short review! I've been listening to folk music (and even making hideous arrangements myself) for decades, and this is the first single I've ever put on permanent loop for over an hour...

Definitely not the stereotypical finger-in-ear stuff so popular in the 1970s, this is a truly entertaining, individualistic, up-to-date classic. Everything about it is great - the ultra-clear diction, the fun mix of sounds, the sort-of-music-hall presentation. Equally good for dancing to (though quiet, the rhythm becomes increasingly insistent the more you listen), or just listening to quietly: a versatile single from a versatile performer.

Available from 18th Feb 2008.
