Accolade is an alright band. Depending on what you want to hear. It's generally an alternative-like band. I do
enjoy their music (even though I don't like slow songs very much).
The first track, Keep Your Distance is a well compiled track. The piano in it sets it off and is
structured well with the lead guitar. It also has a good course and is an alternative track. Near the
middle of the track there is a melodic break down which fits well and sounds great. It also has a nice solo
in it.
The second track, Confidence Trick starts off sounding like it's in distress - the main vocal line
saying I've tried to fool you all really touches the heart. The drums are compiled well with all the
rest of the instruments. The solo in this track is more generic but good; however, it doesn't take the roof
off the place. I personally like this song: the vocals have powerful meanings.
The third track, Still fall down is a slow track. For myself, I don't particularly like slow songs but
here it is. The melody parts with no vocals sounds impressive, and I like that characteristic in the lead guitar.
It's a love song (you know how those sappy love songs are. I just wasn't extremely in love with it).
My favorite track out of the three would have to be Confidence Trick. I like this band - they have well
structured songs.

Hailing from Leeds, Bradford and Halifax five piece Accolade put some smooth, slick and heartfelt emotion in
their latest offering of melodic indie rock.
With excellently delivered vocals, rock-steady drums & bass, sentimental keys and guitar ranging from subtle,
gentle tones to raw, rocking and right in your face. This band flow in the same vein as current bands like
The Killers and The Feeling and this collection should definitely have appeal for people into
polished indie-rock music.
The standout track on this EP would definitely be the final track Still Fall Down. This is a chilled,
soulful track bursting with emotion that rolls at one perfect speed all the way through. With some excellent keys,
guitars and perfectly sung vocals, this is a really pleasant track that builds up and down nicely.
Accolade haven't thought outside the box too much with this EP, which isn't necessarily a terrible thing. They
seem to understand the mood of current mainstream indie and have put a collection out which is worthy of appreciation.
