Falling Down

Venue: Deep End (25 June 2003)
Reviewer: Mike Stannett

Falling Down

A band of two halves - the opening was, erm..., Top of the Popsie, and the end was Heavy Heaven. A word also for Pete doing the mixing - excellent throughout. Falling Down are a 5-piece comprising guitars, vocalist, bass and drums, each of them played responsively. There's no doubting the tunes, but I was fast coming to the conclusion that the band members were possibly the most bored musicians I'd ever encountered, when everything changed. The music became heavier, the smiles appeared, and everyone started enjoying themselves, audience included. Perhaps an omen for the future? This band would do very well on the heavier side of the rock spectrum; the tunes fit the genre, and the voice is perfectly positioned...

Either way, a fine performance with lots of promise.
